A Prayer For Peace

This prayer was written by my friend, Andrea. I wanted to share it with my readers.

Lord You, give Your people strength. You Lord, bless them with peace. (Psa.29:11) Great are You Lord, who delights in blessing His servant with peace! (Psa.35:27) Those who love Your instructions have great peace and do not stumble. (Psa.119:165) You say all who listen to You will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm. (Prov.1:33)

You are called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isa.9:6) You say You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! (Isa.26:3) Lord, You say You will grant us peace; all we have accomplished is really from You. (Isa.26:12) Lord You say— You are our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow.” Help us to listen to Your commands Lord! Then we will have peace flowing like a gentle river and righteousness rolling over us like waves in the sea. (Isa.48:17-18)

The high and lofty one who lives in eternity, the Holy One, says this: “I live in the high and holy place with those whose spirits are contrite and humble. I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant heart. I will lead them. I will comfort those who mourn, bringing words of praise to their lips. May they have abundant peace, both near and far,” says the Lord, who heals them. (Isa. 57:15,18-19)

Lord, when You gave Daniel the vision and it brought him sorrow filling him with anguish, You sent a heavenly messenger and he spoke to Daniel ”Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!” (Daniel 10:19) (Lord, speak these words to our hearts.) Jesus You said “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.(John14:27) I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world” (John16:33)

You say in Your word letting the Spirit control our minds leads to life and peace. (Rom.8:6) God, the source of hope, will fill us completely with joy and peace because we trust in Him. Then we will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.(Rom15:13) Lord You say don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell You what we need, and thank You for all You have done. Then we will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. Your peace will guard our heart and mind as we live in Christ Jesus.

You say to fix our thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. You say to think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. You want us to keep putting into practice all we learn and receive from You—everything we hear from You and see You doing. Then You, the God of peace will be with us.(Phil.4:6-9) Above all, You ask us to clothe ourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And to let the peace that comes from You Christ, rule in our hearts. For as members of one body we are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. (Col3:14-15)

Your word says, now may the Lord of peace Himself give us His peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with us.(2Thess3:16) God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and His Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed Him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ.

May God give you more and more grace and peace. (1pet.1:2) Grace and peace to you from the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come (Rev1:4) Lord help us to truly say with our hearts, Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! (Hab3:17-18)
