Reasons Why You Need Not Worry

Reminders From God

“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?”  Matthew 6:25-27 (NKJV)

God tells us not to worry. He wants us to trust Him.  In Matthew 6:26 God reminds His children that He feeds the birds of the air, who do not sow, reap, or gather food.  We are worth much more to Him than these winged creatures. So why then can’t we trust God with all of our concerns?  Why do we cling to our anxiety when it can’t add a single hour to our lives?

Our measure of trust in God will determine our measure of faith in God.  Trust and faith make up a powerful spiritual equation.              Trust in God=Faith, Hope, Peace.

It is easy to become overwhelmed when we think too far into the future.  The book of Matthew advises us to live day by day.  There are sufficient worries and troubles in a single day.  When we add the concerns of an entire week to the single day we should be focused on, we could easily feel like a sinking ship.

If you are a planner, it will probably be harder for you to trust God with your future.  Living one day at a time requires a deep dependence on God, and a trust in His ability to manage your next step.  If you can learn to take each day as it comes, you will discover the peace that transcends all understanding.  You will free your mind of wasted moments of fret, thus enabling it to meditate on the more beneficial mysteries and promises of God.

Unless you decide that you can trust God with your burdens, casting them His way will never occur.   To gain trust in His ability, you merely need to reflect upon who He is.  He created everything, so He is the Creator of the universe. He knows all, so He is aware of your thoughts before they are even spoken. He sees all, so He won’t be surprised by any actions you are now trying to hide from His knowledge.  He is everywhere.

Once God has your trust, a huge step in building up your faith, you will find a greater measure of peace.  Holding the hand of peace is hope.  Hope enables a saint to carry on and finish his spiritual race.  Perseverance is gained through hope.

If you are feeling heavy burdened meditate on some basic Biblical truths.

God loves you.  Why else would He have sent Jesus to die on the cross for your sins? He promises to never abandon you.  You may feel like you are all alone on your journey, but the reality is that for most of your journey He has been carrying you.  He provides for the birds of the air and you are of much greater worth to Him.  Your needs will be met.

He does have plans for you and they are plans with a hope and a future.  He will give you His strength when yours is spent.  In fact, you will amaze many when you walk in the power and strength of God.

He sees all and knows all and is with you always.  You are never alone.  He loves it when you draw near to Him and will answer all your prayers, maybe just not how you would have expected.  God wants to be your guide in life and will lead you through all dangers and tribulations. Thus, you need not ever be afraid for He knows the way to eternity.  Trust the Lord and cast all your cares upon Him.  Free yourself from worry and you will discover that you have gained a crown of righteousness and deepened your relationship with a King.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”  Matthew 6:34 (NKJV)
